Homemade Desserts are Amazing!

Did you ever have someone special make a birthday dessert to celebrate your big day? Or maybe you had a family celebratory sweet for the start of spring like we did - strawberry pie! We couldn't wait for the first berries to appear in March. When they did, we knew we were in for something yummy from Mom's kitchen.

My mom's custom-designed birthday cakes were a cherished tradition when I was growing up. It was quite the process - a lot of frosting, food coloring, metal decorating tips, and parchment paper triangles. I watched, learned, and was excited when I was able to join the decorating team. 

Homemade desserts - especially those made by moms - are filled with love and care. Those are to be savored! She spends some of her precious time making delicious treats for her family, and the house gets filled with the smell of something wonderful. Thanks, Mom!
